Sightseeing around Bayeux & news

Discover, escape, share, relax… Discover a region rich in history, preserved heritage and enjoy the beautiful Norman landscapes !

A cultural and memorable stay

From just a stone throw away from our charming hotel, you’ll be able to discover the old medieval city of Bayeux and the Notre-Dame de Bayeux cathedral.

Be sure to see the Bayeux tapestry, also known as the Tapestry of Queen Mathilda. This famous work of art dates back to the 12th century and was embroidered to celebrate the glorious tribulations of William the Conqueror. The tapestry has been categorized as a UNESCO World Heritage since 2007.
You can also visit the Mémorial Musuem of the Battle of Normandy and the MAHB, Museum of Art and History Baron Gerard.

Immerse yourself in the life of the city through its numerous events : the Bayeux-Calvados War Correspondents Prize, the Bayeux medieval festival, the rendezvous de la Cathédrale, the international circus festival, the Normandy D Day festival…

The D Day landing beaches are a few minutes away. Discover the coast and its history : Arromanches and its artificial port or the German battery at Longues-sur-Mer (about 15 minutes away), Omaha Beach or the American cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer (about 20 minutes away), the Pointe du Hoc (about 30 minutes away) but you can also enjoy the wild cliffs or beaches to relax.

A stay for sports and nature enthusiasts

Relax and discover the countryside around Bayeux thanks to the many tours for hiking, riding or biking. You can also golf in Port en Bessin, 10 km away.
Hiking tours are available on local tourist site www.calvados-tourisme.com, in the « Hiking and walking routes » section.
For unusual ways to discover the D Day Landing beaches, you can paraglide (école élémentaire in Port en Bessin), kayak, paddle, sand yachting..
